Bonnie Tyler will perform in the SECOND half of the draw on Saturday.

That means anywhere from 14th to 26th...

This is good news!

Netherlands is through! Netherlands is through! And Belgium! My flutters have already been more successful than last year. As regards the predictions we made before the show, I got eight right and Glyn called six. I don't think I would ever have called Lithuania as a qualifier in a million years.

If you didn't see it, here are the 10 nations which will be taking part in Saturday's final: Moldova, Lithuania, Ireland, Estonia, Belarus, Denmark, Russia, Belgium, Ukraine and the NETHERLANDS! I thought Anouk oozed class this evening and I really hope she can bring in the votes on Saturday evening. Thought it was a great show from SVT too. Far more intimate than in recent years and the acts didn't look so lost on stage (for an example of acts who have looked lost in the past, check out Poland's 2011 performance). I hope this is the way forward for future hostings.

Roll on Thursday.

It won't be long now before we're in Malmo for the first semi-final of this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Ten songs will progress tonight to Saturday's big final and, as usual, my other half and I have picked out the 10 songs we think will make it through this evening. Last year Glyn had the better ear for a progressor than I did. We'll see what happens by 10pm... Enjoy the show.

The man in this picture is still thinking really hard about who to vote for

Thank you for all your votes. On the day the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 kicks in proper with the first semi-final in Malmo this evening, it's time to find out who the good readers of Boom Bang a Blog have picked as their favourite.

Earlier today, Bonnie Tyler had her first run-through on the stage at the Malmo Arena for the performance of Believe in Me on Saturday. This clip from the official website only gives you a briefest titbit of how it will sound (and it's reassuringly accomplished) - but it does give away what is likely to be the closest Bonnie gets to a Bucks Fizz-type gimmick. Don't click on play if you want to save the surprise.
