Tomorrow sees the first instalment of guest blogger Ewan Spence's Eurovision Long Player - looking at other material released by Eurovision contestants beyond their entry into the competition itself.
Before that hits the interweb, you may be interested in Ewan's reports from the World Blog Expo, held in Las Vegas, USA, last week where Mr Spence made his own presentation.
It's an interesting read - and there's even some stuff about Eurovision in there as well.
You can find out all about it right here.
Well can you believe it - today it's the day of the grand final of Eurovision 2009.
Having seen yet another dress rehearsal yesterday - this time the first run through of the final - we have decided to save all the excitement of tonight to, well, tonight.
Apostolos and I are in the apartment, Karen has taken herself off to a museum. We're listening to Eurovision Gold on my iPod, and Apostolos says that it brings back so many good memories. Music can do that, you know.
So all eyes turn to the final and to who will win. As I have said earlier, I can be the kiss of death with Eurovision entries... although I did get 16/20 qualifiers correct - how did you do Jamie? (I got 13/20. I'm not ashamed. Jame)
Well, that is exactly what I did on Thursday afternoon.
Rather than attend another run though of the rather disappointing second semi-final, I was invited to attend the recording of a prime-time television programme celebrating Chiara's success at Eurovision so far, for Maltese television.
It was a kind invitation from my friend Toni Sant - he knows how much I love Chiara, and the song that she is performing this year. He is well connected with the Maltese delegation and Maltese Media, and was also a contributor on the show.
The TV programme is a two-hour special - and it doesn't get much bigger than this on a Friday night in Malta.
Who's this with the boom bang a blogging Phil Jackson? Why, it's only boom bang a blooming Chiara - already a holder of Eurovision bronze and silver for Malta - and now a qualifier from Tuesday night's semi final.
Phil, it transpires, has been a silver-tongued charmer and bagged an exclusive interview with Valetta's favourite warbler. Watch this blogspace for her words of wisdom.
Hi again. It's a rainy day in Moscow - and apparently there will be showers for the rest of the week - boo! Still, we won't let that dampen our spirits - there is still much to enjoy in Eurovish week.
I have just attended the first dress rehearsal for the second semi -final (hope you're keeping-up with me), and it was a bit all over the place.
Before I get into that let's metaphorically put the shenanigans from the first semi-final to bed... although don't speak to me about bed - I got to bed at 5am.
Last year when I was in Belgrade for Eurovision Karen, Milija and I voted on who we thought were the runners and riders to make it to the final from each of the semi-finals.
Tonight, as we readied ourselves for all the excitment of "round one", we cast our votes for the BBAB bloggers, and here is what out "expert" jury thought would make it through.
Phil Jackson, senior lecturer in media studies at Edge Hill University reports exclusively for Boom Bang a Blog from Eurovision 2009.
Who says you can't get the staff these days? As Boom Bang a Blog remains UK-bound in Contest week, we are pleased to announce that Doctor Eurovision himself - he'll be getting academic stuff out of this trip, oh yes, it's not just about the costumes and key changes - will be telling us the who, the why, the wherefore and hopefully, the Royaume Uni of it all as Eurovision Week gets going with a swing.
But enough from us, it's over to Phil:
"Greeting from sunny Moscow - Boom Bang a bloggers!
"I'll be reporting for you from the heart of the Eurovision this year, through the nervous dress rehearsals of the semi-finals, to the final on Saturday night.
"To help us survive the semi-finals, eagle-eyed viewers of the blog will have seen how Jamie has steered us through the runners and riders this year. I hope to throw in a whiff of scandal and gossip your way before the frenzied climax of the Eurovish on Saturday...
Boom Bang a Blog is like a big bucket placed beneath a tap a-dripping with Eurovision anticipation - and with each passing moment we're getting filled with anticipation for this year's event.
By our reckoning, the UK delegation should now be in Moscow, with Jade showing us what she's made of at her first rehearsal at around 1.30pm British time tomorrow (don't worry - we'll post a vid).
And from Monday/Tuesday - if all goes according to plan - Professor of Eurovision, Mr Phil Jackson, will be providing us with exclusive backstage treats as the entrants prepare for Tuesday, first semi final, Thursday's second semi final- and the Eurovision Song Contest itself on Saturday, May 16.
It's almost here...

He's been a busy, busy boy this past week, but before Chris Knight settles into his seat at the Beogradska Arena for tonight's Eurovision Song Contest, he has one more file to report. A quirkier Eurovision personality - and someone with a North West connection - stopped by for a chat, but we won't spoil the surprise.
Wherever you watch tonight's show, hope you enjoy it. I've just been cutting up the official BBc scorecard to make out sweepstake, Glyn is preparing punch - and wait until you see the photos of his trifle.
We'll be back later on - or tomorrow morning - with the results and the reaction from the Aigburth panel.

Not long to go now until the second semi final. What has Chris Knight been up to today?

Here's a scoop from our gold star-deserving roving reporter Chris Knight.
Chris is one of a handful of British delegates in Belgrade to scoop an interview with Swedish entrant Charlotte Perelli. Lotte was named as the favourite to win the 2008 trophy on the BBC News website earlier today, but she has to get through Thursday night's qualifier first.
Find out what Charlotte has to say about being back in the Song Contest, winning the homeland phenomenon that is Melodifestivalen and getting a five-way marriage proposal from some San Marinese gentlemen.
Day Four - Digesting and Cogitating

So, things in Belgrade are gearing up for the first semi-final tonight. I went to see the technical rehearsal yesterday afternoon and here are my thoughts on who's worth a punt and who isn't.
Day Three - Anyone fancy a Danish?
![]()
Our man Chris is doing sterling work out in Serbia.
On his third day at the forefront of Belgrade's Eurovision action, Chris has caught up with this year's Danish entrant, Simon Mathew.
To find out what the man who'll have Copenhagen crossing its fingers on Thursday night has to say about the UK's chances (note: if you're Andy Abraham, don't read any further), Liverpool and Manchester's music scene - and the Eurovision experience as a whole, feel free to carry on.
Day Two - Lose the Purple, Sir
![]()
So day two in Belgrade, which architecturally is a concrete lover's dream and here's the lowdown with what I've been up to these past 24 hours.
We went to the Ukrainian party last night where we were kindly offered free beer and bits of, what I think was, Ukrainian pizza! It was almost a mini-Eurovision in itself featuring performances from not only Ani Lorak, but also Russia (narcissistic), Armenia (bombastic), Malta (dynamic), Sweden (plastic), Bulgaria (energetic) and San Marino (fantastic).

There's only so much I can write about a Contest that's taking place hundreds of miles away from my desk at the Southport Visiter.
What Boom Bang a Blog really needs is someone on the scene, someone who can tell us how many sugars the old bloke from Croatia puts in his tea or how many fans haven't actually left the Belgrade Arena since rehearsals began.
What Boom Bang a Blog really needs is that man in that photo there; Chris Knight.
Chris, who has accreditation for this year's event, is now in Serbia and will be keeping us updated with all the gossip and atmosphere. Get in.
I'll stop typing now, so you can read what Chris has to say. Mr Knight, it's over to you.
