Our Man in Moscow goes Euroclubbing
Hi again. It's a rainy day in Moscow - and apparently there will be showers for the rest of the week - boo! Still, we won't let that dampen our spirits - there is still much to enjoy in Eurovish week.
I have just attended the first dress rehearsal for the second semi -final (hope you're keeping-up with me), and it was a bit all over the place.
Before I get into that let's metaphorically put the shenanigans from the first semi-final to bed... although don't speak to me about bed - I got to bed at 5am.
The 'napkin of death' has become an important element in the decision making process - your Moscow jury (me, Karen, Apostolos and Toni) noted our decisions over dinner the other night, and as it was last year, it was the essential tool to confirm our choices.
How did we do? Well, like a good teacher would say to a successful pupil, and as Bruce Forsyth says to himself every day when he wakes-up in the morning - "didn't he do well!" ... I got 8/10! Pleased with that - my "Eurovision expert" status (apparently) is relatively untouched. Jamie - how did you do? :D (Jamie: I got five or six, haven't counted. Hmmph).
It's not all work and no play - here are Karen, Apostolos and me in the Euroclub - where all the kids (ahem) kick-back after a hard day Eurovision-ing.

And Karen's found a notorious example. Oh, hang on, that's Phil, Our Man in Moscow.
It's a great venue, and there are loads of vouchers for free booze.
Strangely for a Euroclub, there are dancing ladies. And even more weird is that they don't play Eurovision music!?!? What's that all about?
It has not gone down well with the Euroclub clientele. In some important ways the Russian organizers have not got the core of what this whole circus is all about.
Other news and views over at my Edge Hill Eurovision Blog, with a bit more about last night.
Fact of the day: This is a marathon (Snickers) not a sprint (Milky Way)
