The old pro dancing for his homeland is Serhij Kostetskiy, a 22-year-old whose childish restlessness led to a career in professional dance. A story we can all relate to, there.

He has also trained as a clothes designer and, somewhat at odds with the pic accompanying this entry, his special moves are in hip-hop and electric-boogie.

Serhij is joined by the 30-year-old former Olympic champion gymnast Liliya Podlopaeva, who won 45 gold medals in her career. It's a soft shoe-in that these talents will be brought in to play during their routine.

She is now a gymnastics judge and still has room on her mantlepiece for the Ukrainian Sportsperson of the Year Award for 1996. The way the partisan scoring goes at Eurovision, there could well be a Dance trophy on there this time next week.

Ukraine only entered the Song Contest for the first time in 2003, but in that six-Contest period has already collected one gold and two silver.

If they take the dance version as seriously, be afraid. Ukraine telly could soon be checkin' Kiev for suitable venues for the 2009 show.
