Would our friends from Lithuania please take the floor?
Finland was the last nation to pick its entrant for the 2007 Eurovision Dance Contest - and won the whole thing. This year, it is the Lithuanians who brought up the rear in the couple-picking stakes, so will this prove ominous?
Dancers Saulius Skambinas and Karina Krysko certainly hope so. Bless 'em. There wasn't a lot of meat on the bones of their biography, but we'll do our best with what we've got...
As it was too tempting to pass up the chance of further lexicographical japes, we put Saulius' name in an anagram generator and came up with the following results:
A Basin's Usual Skim
I Sink Samba Usuals
Us Saki Salami Buns
And something rather amusing, but far too rude to write here.
Saulius is the professional of the pair (no cheating again; Greece, take note) and is a major dancing champ in his homeland.
On Saturday, he will partner singer and musician Karina Krysko who fornts Lithuanian group 69 Danguje, who won Sexiest Band of 2006, a title Status Quo is in no danger of snatching from their grasp. Karina also topped the Lithuanian list in FHM's Top 100 World's Sexiest in Lithuania list.
Pity the pair of them aren't entering the Eurovision Sexy Contest, really.
