July 2008 Archives

Details are creeping towards the dancefloor of just who is going to be involved in this year's Eurovision Dance Contest, to be staged in front of a 2,000-strong crowd at Glasgow's SECC on Saturday, September 6.
Despite Boom Bang a Blog's call for Lorraine Kelly to be one of the presenters, the BBC is sticking with last year's hosting team of Graham Norton and Claudia Winkleman (bah, they're good - but Lorraine would have been better...)

A press release has reached Boom Bang a Blog Towers from the nice people at HMV.
It promoted their Single of the Week - a song Steve Wright has played on his Radio 2 show every day for a 30-day period (we're assuming that doesn't include weekends).
The song is Lay Your Love on Me performed by Swedish pop trio Bodies Without Organs (or BWO).
Remember the (rather mild) kerfuffle about 18 months ago when it was rumoured Morrissey was seriously considering representing the UK at Eurovision?
Well, if the Mozz had had his own way (apparently, he didn't want to go through the British heat against a load of unknowns and wanted a direct shoe-in to Helsinki) this is the song which would have represented Royaume Uni at Eurovision 2007.
It's called I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris and here is the man himself performing it live in October last year.
What do you think? Better than Scooch?
