Eurovision Food Digest

This face full of culinary mischief belongs to Glyn Ellis Hughes, the proud Welshman responsible for providing the menu at our Eurovision party on Saturday night.
Glyn is keeping the final dishes a surprise until the night, but he has agreed to share a few hints and tips with the Boom Bang a Blog readers.
(I can tell you the final recipes contain a lot of vegetables, as I went to ASDA with him last night to buy them).
Glyn says: "So, it's time to cater for this year's Eurovision party. A friend did suggest a buffet - "just open the packets".
"Well, the Contest may be camp and trashy, but I for one am certainly not trash so there'll be none of that. Just proper home cooked fare.
"The oracle that is Wikipedia has been consulted, but due to the fact that most people of my generation are phobic when it comes to dried fruit, I'm adapting the dish I found to be a tad more user friendly.
"I've taken inspiration not only from the Serbian hosts but more than a few other competitors.
"I'm planning a fusion of Balkan and Slavic cuisine with a nod to the Mediterranean for good measure.
"The UK will not be left out as there'll be good old sherry trifle, which means Spain's covered too.
"It really doesn't matter what I cook though, I'm sure the voting will leave a bad taste in everyone's mouths again this year so will make sure there's enough booze to numb the taste buds and pride glands."

I'm intrigued!!!
Sounds fantastic. I still reckon that the best food I've ever had at a party was at our Eurovision Song Contest Party a few years ago.
Will Glyn be making Strifle or Trifle?
Have a fabulous party and take many photographs. Keep a copy of the flyer for me. I still have last years!
Mmm... doing any cevapcici and sopska salata?
what can i say?? i've been hearing about the culinary delights all week, and am sure they'll be of michelin* standard!!! the thought process alone took some deliberating, so i'll be fascinated to hear how well they were received......i'm sure they'll generate as much satisfaction as glyn had in creating them!! enjoy xx

Have a good time. Will text you if I manage to find a television to watch the contest on!
Hope the cooking goes OK - I've never made anything with vegetables in it!
